- Developed repair strategy for T408 Combustor Liner Assembly in collaboration with the US Navy and suppliers. - Drove root cause analysis of engine part defects across multiple shops worldwide; identified and developed action plan for $50M + of process improvement savings. - Coordinated part cleaning improvement project across multiple shops by developing business case, championing efforts with senior leadership, and bridging across different cultures; over $500K saved in first six months. - Co-led lean manufacturing sprint to develop new scrap code standards for use across all of GE Aviation; new standards led to more effective scrap defect pareto charts via productivity savings. - Provided powerplant engineer guidance on workscopes, leading indicators, and evolving field issues for contract customers worldwide. - Led three-person team at MRO client in Taiwan (on-site) to establish inspection and repair practices for engine module hardware; successful ramp-up of repair line with 12 modules in the first year at client site. - Authored new repair document for inspection and repair of Fan Case Module parts leading better productivity for shops over former processes; reduced departure record workload for engineering and shops by ~40% - Addressed seven grounded aircraft situations with airline/freight customers by interfacing with customer’s staff to develop custom technical & business solutions, preventing further delay of airline service. - Performed design engineering analyses to recover ~$1.5M of Ceramic Matrix Composite parts for the CFM LEAP engine program, minimizing part waste/scrap. - Worked with internal Quality and Manufacturing departments at the Asheville, NC plant to reduce nonconformances and rework, reducing nonconformance occurrences by ~40%. - Led structures LM9000 Turbine Center Frame (TCF) redesign by leveraging GE90-115B TCF, performing analyses using new, preliminary designs, taking to CDR status, ~3 months ahead of schedule. - Recovered ~$500K of nonconforming life-limited parts using engineering analyses, reducing scrap and waste of production parts. - Nominated for internal engineering award for managing CF34-3B Dual MTO LPT Life Type Certification by analyzing fatigue and damage tolerance of life-limited parts, writing the module life manual, and submitting to the local FAA representative for review & approval. - Developed probabilistic fracture mechanics algorithm to allow durability critical lifing on the F110 engine for select rotating parts (US Air Force), allowing longer usage and better value of parts.
